Operation mend broken heart

Christine called me saying she had found a miniature horse on ksl and was thinking about going to pick up up for Grandpa. I told her I wanted to go with. We had no way of transporting her but since she was a mini we thought she would fit right in the back of my van. I got a table cloth to lay down (didn't think to grab plastic), took out the back seat and we were on our way. We fell in love when we saw her. She is the sweetest thing. She was a little bigger that we were planning though. Once we got her in the abck of the van we were on our way to finish our mission. She bucked, reared, hopped and neighed for about the first 10 minutes and there were a couple times we thought about turning back. I was really nervous to take her on the freeway.. especially since she did the best when we were going real slow. Chris soon realized that she was ok as long as she was being sung to. I kept imaging todays newpaper headlines saying : "Two dumb women trampled to death by horse in minivan on freeway". We made it though. Her name is Dixie which we thought was fitting & perfect.. Dixie (St. George) carries a lot of meaning to the Prisbrey family name. Not sure if if mended the broken heart.. in fact, I know it didn't (that will take more time) but he loves her & she loves him.
