cowboys at the Ranch

Last week Grandpa had some real Cowboys come to the Ranch. Grandpa's nephew's Brian & Brandon come up to go to Logan & Tremonton's rodeos. Grandpa & Brett went to watch Brandon at the Tremonton rodeo. Grandpa just loved hearing the Prisbrey name being announced!
He also loved having them stay the night at the Ranch. At first they told Grandpa that they could stay in their trailer. Grandpa sad no way! (He was thinking that they where going to be sleeping with their horses. "Boy how trailers have up graded" Grandpa loved seeing the two of them.

happy b-day Micheal

We had a nice birthday get together for Micheal at the Ranch. It was great to have so many people at the Ranch. It was also a good time to welcome in Dixie. I think she got a little over whelmed with all of us. She's getting use to just being the only one around Grandpa. You can now say she is spoiled. If you haven't seen Dixie yet come out to Grandpa's. It's so cute to see him with Dixie. She is glued to his hip.

Operation mend broken heart

Christine called me saying she had found a miniature horse on ksl and was thinking about going to pick up up for Grandpa. I told her I wanted to go with. We had no way of transporting her but since she was a mini we thought she would fit right in the back of my van. I got a table cloth to lay down (didn't think to grab plastic), took out the back seat and we were on our way. We fell in love when we saw her. She is the sweetest thing. She was a little bigger that we were planning though. Once we got her in the abck of the van we were on our way to finish our mission. She bucked, reared, hopped and neighed for about the first 10 minutes and there were a couple times we thought about turning back. I was really nervous to take her on the freeway.. especially since she did the best when we were going real slow. Chris soon realized that she was ok as long as she was being sung to. I kept imaging todays newpaper headlines saying : "Two dumb women trampled to death by horse in minivan on freeway". We made it though. Her name is Dixie which we thought was fitting & perfect.. Dixie (St. George) carries a lot of meaning to the Prisbrey family name. Not sure if if mended the broken heart.. in fact, I know it didn't (that will take more time) but he loves her & she loves him.
